Eagles Nest half-day tour from Salzburg

Experience a great half-day trip to the famous and historic Eagles nest. After leaving Salzburg you will enjoy a scenic drive through the Bavarian Alps which will bring you directly to the bottom of the Eagles Nest (Obersalzberg). From there a bus will take you on a most spectacular 6.5 km long road with a 22 percent gradient up to the Eagle's Nest, to an altitude of 1.820 meters. The top of the mountain is reachable by foot or with a fascinating golden brass elevator taking you in only 41 seconds another 124 meters up into the residence building itself. Explore the historic building, which was used as Hitler´s former residence during the Second World War.Afterward, you have some free time to stroll around and walk to the summit cross nearby to enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of the Bavarian and Austrian Alps.
